Imagine a bespoke design practice that makes its own work and specialises in solving clients problems on and around their stairs - and then you find it's based locally.
Do you have an exceptionally squeaky step? or the entire staircase has reached its end of life by defect or design and its now time to refresh or replace? You might be renovating your home or building a new one, all projects that need a special level of care and attention to detail.
I design, make, install and repair staircases and balustrades and have been doing so for more than twenty years mainly around south west London. My aim is to use my skills and experience to enhance the homes and lives of my clients. A successful project is based on a great client/ designer relationship.
My practice is design led, backed up by superb making skills honed through working for and with many talented people over the years, some of whom continue to work with me.
After studying architecture at university in the 90's, I worked locally in small practice. Here I developed my signature face to face style of working with clients. For my larger projects I use drawings, sketches and 3D models to show and tell how a design is evolving and draw from my clients own homes and experiences to influence the design. Communication and client relationships are the key for all my projects.
My ambition is to work in my local community and achieve a good life work balance at the same time as providing a world class service. This has eliminated the necessity for motor transport, instead my company uses cargo bikes. This has brought many benefits and a more healthy working life. I encourage those who work with me to make environmentally friendly life choices and I support diversity.
